September 26, 2024People of conscience, especially those who believe that killing human beings is always wrong, are deeply challenged by violent conflicts in our world. Our hearts ache from the pain and suffering we witness, and our heads race with all sorts of questions.
We see horrible news and strong opinions about the violence, who to blame, and what should be done. We don’t want to do nothing. But, many times, we also don’t know what actions to support.
CFSC has produced a new brief toolkit for Quakers or anyone concerned by wars and violence. It explains the responses we recommend. The toolkit is broken down into six sections:
- Expressing our sympathy and solidarity
- Exploring historic context
- Violence won’t solve the problem
- Nonviolent alternatives to war
- Government calls to action
- Tools and resources
