November 22, 2018We have white poppy pins for sale at the CFSC office (60 Lowther Ave, Toronto). They’re $2 each or 3 for $5. You can pick them up in person or contact us to discuss an order (mailing costs apply).
The white poppy has been controversial because it’s sometimes misunderstood as insulting to soldiers. The goal of the white poppy isn’t to disrespect soldiers. White poppies symbolize remembrance of all people killed in war – civilians and soldiers alike. White poppies also symbolize a hope for an end to all wars.
We’ve started offering these buttons after multiple Friends contacted us and said they couldn’t find anywhere in Canada to get white poppies.
How we remember wars is important, and we hope wearing your white poppies will help you start some good conversations.
CFSC also offers other buttons for sale as well as t-shirts ($20).
